A computer wallpaper for makers...
Hi all,

So, earlier this evening while sitting at my desk trying to work and failing miserably, I looked up at my computer and thought, "wow, there's a whole mess of empty space right there in front of me. Wouldn't that be a great place for an engineering/maker's cheat sheet?" Assuming that somebody would've thought of this already, I googled "desktop background engineering cheat sheet" in a number of permutations, to no avail. I was disappointed.

Which brings me to the question I'd like to pose to the maker community. If you're like me and do a great deal of your work with your laptop nearby, you might find some utility in having a cheat-sheet printed there on the desktop for you to use. What would you most appreciate having on that cheat sheet? Resistor color codes seem an obvious one, as well as basic electronics formulas, trig rules, conversion tables...Any other ideas?

Anyway, let me know. I've put up a preliminary version of the background here (pretty shotgunned, I can think of a bunch of things I wouldn't mind having on it already):

...and the Photoshop document for it here:

Apologies for not quoting the sources that I got the graphics from...If this irritates someone, I can certainly track down the graphics. Also, I fully own up to the fact that I don't know the first thing about Photoshop - hope my design basis isn't too crummy.

Cheers,
J.L

Parasite-resistant Peppers Green Alternatives To Chemical Pesticides
Root-knot nematodes are microscopic, omnipresent worms that cause major damage to horticultural and field crops in sub-tropical regions, resulting in significant financial losses to growers and gardeners. To combat these parasites without the use of chemical pesticides, scientists are focusing more research on developing new, parasite-resistant varieties of vegetables.
