How to power/control motor from old IDE harddrive
I've taken apart an old xbox and dissassembled its 8gb Western Digital harddrive. It's got a low profile motor in it which I'd like to use for some project. It doesn't have any markings on it that don't look like a serial number, but it has 3 pins that interface with it somehow. I've unfortunately already trashed the board that it connected to, so I can't look at any motor control ICs that were around that area.

Does anyone here have any insight? Is it a stepper motor? Is it brushless DC? I don't have much experience with these kinds of things. I'd like to be able to control the direction and speed (I guess that's everything).

Tillage, Rotation Impacts Peanut Crops
A recent study looked at the different effects of tillage and rotation practices on peanut crops in the southern United States to determine if the rising trend towards reduced tillage would have an effect on yields and the occurrence of pests.
