| Understanding the corrosion mechanism of aqueous silicate glass is crucial for the long-term durability of nuclear waste glasses. This mechanism is generally thought to be associated with chemical affinity, but it is now demonstrated that morphological transformations also have an important role in the leaching kinetics of these glasses. | |

Over a year ago I posted about your article about the cart that could[n't] go down wind faster than the wind: http://forums.makezine.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=2317&page=1 I've posted some videos of my recent tests with my own cart: http://projects.m-qp-m.us/donkeypuss/ I am convinced beyond any doubt that it is indeed possible for such machines to go faster than the wind that pushes them. Last we left it, you challenged me to build it, so there it is. As you may have seen on YouTube, various others have done the same. What I offer in my videos is proof that the pull is constant and well-defined, not that it is perhaps momentary, or a result of holding the cart from falling off the treadmill. According to your Wikipedia article you're now a section editor at Make. In that case, rather than your cash offering, I propose that I write an article about my experience for publication in Make. Your response to my post was certainly the deciding factor in me building this cart (and getting others involved along the way to help me), and I appreciate that. Now there's no denying I have "the spirit of Make". What do you say? |
