Hello Makers, this is really a question for UK residents so apologies if this is not relevant to you. I would like to know if anyone has knowledge or experience of workshop co-operatives or open-access facilities in urban areas of the south of England - kind of like TechShop but not necessarily on such a large scale. I have found a pay-as-you-go service called 'MakingRoom' near South West London that looks pretty cool but unfortunately it's geared towards wood working only, and is quite expensive for non-commercial projects.
